TechSoup Canada gives Canadian nonprofits, charities and public libraries access to top technology resources without paying top dollar. By registering on their site, your organization can get access to donated software from up to 30 companies such as Microsoft, Symantec and Intuit. They also provide resources for nonprofits on how to use technology such as websites, social media and databases.


There 2 course tracks that are worth highlighting as they are focused on remote workplace and team collaboration:

Pivoting to Remote Work – COVID-19 Response Course Track for Nonprofits

This track is normally $110 but is currently being offered for FREE. The Pivoting to Remote Work track helps nonprofits lay the groundwork for successful remote office environments. It includes the following subjects:

  • Coronavirus Mitigation Resource
  • OneDrive 101: Storing Smartly
  • CyberSecurity 101: How to Become a Human Firewall
  • Outlook 101: Increase Efficiency
  • CyberSecurity 201: How to Make Your Organization Safe

  • SharePoint 101: Improving Collaboration
  • Teams 201: Using Advanced Functions


Course lengths vary from 1 hour with some lasting 2-3 hours. On average this course track would take approximately 10 hours to complete. They also offer some of the courses in other languages.

Teams for Nonprofits – Collaboration Tools

This track is normally $70 but is currently being offered for FREE. Running at just under 4 hours, the Teams for Nonprofits track focuses on the collaboration methods within Microsoft Teams and includes the following subjects:

  • Ask the Expert: Using Teams: Live Event Recorded December 2019
  • Teams 101: Getting Started
  • Teams 201: Using Advanced Functions
